Ms. Martin, our principal, sends out a weekly parent newsletter. Please make sure you read this every week. You can click the image above for easy access.

iPads
TCE 5th graders should come to school each day with their iPad and charger. Please ensure your child charges his/her iPad each evening. Your child should also check periodically to ensure his/her iPad's software is up to date (settings --> general --> software update).

Headphones
In addition to having a charged iPad every day, we also need the students to have their headphones for class every day. Our supply list included four pairs of headphones. Please help remind your son/daughter to keep their headphones in their pencil bags.

Snack
We have a short snack time each day while we continue to work. 5th graders do not each lunch until 1:00 PM each day, so it's important that they have a healthy and nutritious snack each day to fuel their bodies. We also ask that the snack they bring is completely free of peanuts/tree nuts. This will help provide a safe environment for all learners. Thank you for your help!

Water Bottles
The water fountains at school are not currently open, so the students only have access to the bottle filling stations. As you know, it's very hot outside, so the kids are very thirsty when they come back from recess. Please help us by ensuring that you son/daughter brings a water bottle to school each day.

Breakfast
Lots of our 5th Graders have been enjoying eating breakfast at school in the mornings. If your son/daughter wants to eat breakfast here at school, please help them get to school by 7:30 so they have enough time to eat before school starts. As a reminder, TCE doors open at 7:20, and students are expected in class by 7:40.

Report Cards & Accessing Grades Online

Report card grades are available in Home Access Center. If you need directions for how to access Home Access Center please click here.

We want to encourage each parent to take this opportunity to login to Home Access Center. Once you are logged in, you can see your son/daughter's grades for individual assignments as well as class averages. It's important to note that the 5th graders turn everything in through Schoology. Therefore, there are more grades and assignments in Schoology than what we actually take for a grade on report cards. The assignments and grades you see in Home Access Center are the ones that contribute to your son/daughter's report card grades.

Friday, October 22nd

Thank you for taking the time to read our blog!

Our learners had such a great time at the Fun Run this past Thursday! It is not too late to donate to our fundraiser! The fundraiser has been extended through this coming week! As of Thursday afternoon, we were at $13,000 raised! The fifth grade classes have been excited about earning some special class incentives because of donations raised! Some of the things the classes have earned are hat day, technology time, board game time, and Blooket time!

This coming week is Red Ribbon Week! Please see the flyer for dress up days and themes. Please help ensure your child is wearing a school appropriate themed outfit on Friday (dress like a storybook or movie character day)

Friday, October 15

Thank you for taking the time to read our blog!

This year, our TCE Fundraiser will be a Fun Run on October 21st! As our Fun Run gets closer, make sure to register online at mybooster.com. It's free to register your child(ren) and for them to participate in the fun run. We've set a school goal to earn $15,000 for our school to be used for classroom grants that fund instructional materials and experiences. We shared our school-wide incentive on announcements this morning- a dunking booth for the administrators! The top three individual earners will get to dunk us, along with the teacher of the class that has the highest average earned per child (due to our varying class sizes). We'd love your help in meeting our $15,000 goal! Click here to see a video for how to get started!

Updated Class Lists

By now you should have received an email from one of the 5th grade teachers letting you know that your child is in their class for the rest of the school year. Please let us know if you have not received your class assignment email. Within that email was lots of helpful information to help your child be successful. Some of those reminders are below:

In addition to our class lists changing, our schedules will also change slightly. Our Specials time will remain the same, 8:15-9:05Recess will continue to be 11:30-12:00, and lunch will continue to be 1:00-1:30.

We look forward to meeting with you!

***This week, your learner will be coming home with an envelope containing his/her beginning of the year data. We are sending these home with the intention to discuss them with families during your parent conference time. You may wish to have your child's data in front of you during your conference.***
