Thank you for taking the time to read our blog!

Middle School East:

Middle School North:

Our fifth grade Sky Ranch field trip will be April 27-29, 2022. Sky Ranch Camp is located in Van, Texas. Our fifth-grade learners, educators, and chaperones travel there in the spring for three days/two nights for an educational experience that supports our fifth-grade science TEKS. During the trip, the kids participate in outdoor education classes, team building activities, and night activities such as a campfire. It's a fan favorite every year!

We introduced the 5th Grade Talent Show to learners this week and sent home a letter for parents to review. Talent show applications are due April 12th, and auditions will take place after school at 3:15 on April 19th. You can click here to view our presentation we shared with our learners.

5th Graders & Smart Watches

We have noticed that more and more of our students have been wearing smart watches to school, so we want to take a minute to be clear about expectations for those devices.

Students may wear their smart watches to school, but they may not use them to text, email, or call anyone during the day. (The same rule applies for their iPads.) This includes parents. Please help us in reinforcing this expectation.  If you need to get in touch with your son/daughter during the day, please email your child's teacher or call the front office.

We have talked about these expectations with the students. We've let them know that if they are using their smart watch to communicate, they will receive one warning. After that one warning, they will lose the privilege of wearing their smart watches during the day and will have to keep them in their backpacks.

Thank you for your support!

Ms. Martin, our principal, sends out a weekly parent newsletter. Please make sure you read this every week.

We will be offering conferences in the month of May. Please complete the Google Form by Friday, April 22nd.

STAAR Test Preparation
As the STAAR test approaches, we wanted to know that your child has plenty of resources to help them prepare for the test.
READING: Inside the Unit 6: STAAR & Test Preparation folder on Schoology, your child has several resources to help them prepare for the STAAR test. There's a folder called "What can I review for the STAAR test?" that includes reviews of different skills we have taught this year, as well as vocabulary resources.
MATH: We will be using Schoology to house many resources that your child can utilize as extra practice. Please look for the folder called "Math Review" which will be available Monday, April 11th. Your child can also work on any page in the orange Go Math workbooks that were sent home at the beginning of the year. Reach out to your child's math teacher if your child never received one!
