Friday, October 23

Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to read our blog. We hope this communication will be helpful for you and your family.

Here are some photos from this week's learning:

Red Ribbon Week
Next week is Red Ribbon Week! This year's national theme for Red Ribbon Week is "Be Happy.  Be Brave.  Be Drug-Free." This will also be our focus for our counselor's next round of guidance lessons and our morning announcements as we promote making healthy life choices.

To get kids excited about the week, we have themed dress-up days that both our remote and face-to-face learners can participate in. The graphic below includes the information for each day. Please know this is completely optional for kids, and they are able to participate as much or as little as they'd like to. Whether it's finding items around the house to go with the day's dress-up theme or just wearing red, we hope it's a fun week for everyone.

CISD Free and Reduced Meals Application
Each year CISD offers free and reduced meals for eligible applicants. All applicants from the previous year will expire September 28th. If you would like to apply for this school year, please click here. If you would like a paper copy of the application, please call the front desk to arrange curbside pick-up.

Principal Blog
Our Principal, Ms. Martin, has a Principal blog. We recommend reading this blog each time it's emailed as it is full of important information. Please click below for the most recent blog entry:

As a reminder, you can find the Scope & Sequence documents in each of our Schoology courses. This will let you know what we are currently focusing on in each subject area.

The last day of the first grading period was Friday, October 9th. Learners in 4th-12th grade have had their report card information available in the Home Access System (HAC) at https://hac.coppellisd.com since Friday, October 16th. To clarify, report cards were not sent home to students. Instead, you can access your son/daughter's report card online at the website above. Parents and guardians who need help with a HAC password should fill out a Help Desk ticket at www.coppellisd.com/helpdesk

We thought it would be fun to include some student shares about what they enjoyed from the past week.

"I liked the Paul Revere Google Expedition thing because we got to see the buildings and other stuff. We got to see Paul Revere's bedroom!" -A Face to Face Student in 5D

"My favorite lesson from this week working on the ABCs of the Revolution. I also liked the Gimkits we've doing in Science. I just really like Science! -A Virtual Student in 5D

Red Ribbon Week
Next week during Red Ribbon Week, we will focus on healthy choices in our class meetings. We will talk about things like making healthy choices to keep our bodies strong as well as healthy choices in our friendships and relationships. We will also talk about things such as peer pressure, staying drug free, and take care of ourselves.

Thank you for taking the time to read our blog!
